Getting There: The Journey to Dombay
We’ve chosen a breathtaking location, but it does come with a challenge, it’s quite remote, and getting there takes some time.
Date
We recommend arriving in Dombay by August 17th, as our wedding will take place in the morning on August 18th. Of course, you’re welcome to come earlier and take some time to explore the beautiful mountain scenery beforehand!
Getting there
The easiest way to reach Dombay is by flying into Mineralnye Vody Airport (MRV), with direct flights available from Moscow and other cities—there are even options from Istanbul!
For international travelers, booking flights to Russia can be tricky, but www.onetwotrip.com seems to be the most reliable option.
From the airport, we’ll arrange a scenic shuttle to take you to your accommodation. Of course, you’re also welcome to organize your own transport if you prefer!
_Getting to Moscow First
Since most European airlines no longer fly to Russia, the easiest way to reach Moscow is with a stopover in Istanbul or Dubai. Both Turkish Airlines and Emirates offer flights to Moscow, though we’ve found Turkish Airlines to be more affordable and with better direct flight options.
_Flying into Tbilisi Instead
Some of you have asked about flying into Tbilisi, Georgia, and crossing the land border. This is possible, but keep in mind that it’s a long journey—around 10 hours by car from Tbilisi to Dombay. If you choose this route, be sure to check border crossing regulations and plan accordingly!
Let us know how you plan to arrive, and we’ll be happy to help with any travel arrangements!
Visa
Visa requirements vary depending on your nationality, but Russia now offers an e-visa option for most travelers. The visa costs approximately €50 and allows for up to 16 days of travel within the country.
Keep in mind that all of these 16 days must be used within 60 days of visa issuance, so plan your application timing accordingly!

Travel Insurance
While travel insurance isn't strictly mandatory for visiting Russia, we highly recommend having one for peace of mind. You can arrange coverage through various providers, such as:

Make sure your policy includes medical coverage and travel disruptions just in case!
Money & Payments
International debit and credit cards won’t work in Russia, so we highly recommend carrying cash. You can exchange money at the airport or at various banks.
However, please note that Russian banks are very strict about the condition of banknotes—they won’t accept bills with visible defects, creases, or signs of age. To avoid any issues, bring only new, crisp banknotes!
Either way, sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey!
